Purpose: This guide will show you how to create a rule in Gmail that automatically deletes all incoming emails.
Step 1: Access Gmail Settings
- Log in to your Gmail account by clicking here.
- Click on the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- From the dropdown menu, select See all settings.
Step 2: Create a New Filter
- In the settings menu, go to the Filters and Blocked Addresses tab.
- Scroll down and click on Create a new filter.
Step 3: Set Filter Criteria
- In the Create a filter window, leave all the fields blank to apply the rule to all incoming emails.
- If you want to filter specific types of emails, you can enter criteria in the fields (e.g., a specific email address, subject, etc.).
- Once done, click on Create filter.
Step 4: Apply the Delete Action
- After clicking Create filter, a new window will appear with various actions.
- Check the box next to Delete it.
- Optionally, check the box for Also apply filter to matching conversations to apply the rule to existing emails.
- Finally, click Create filter to activate the rule.
Step 5: Test the Rule
- Send a test email to your Gmail account.
- Verify that the email is automatically moved to the Trash.
Additional Notes:
- Emails in the Trash are automatically deleted after 30 days.
- You can disable or delete the filter by returning to the Filters and Blocked Addresses tab in the settings.
