When Apple pushes out updates for their operating systems, it may change a setting that allows you to connect to the SAU Student WiFi network. If your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or other Apple device had previously been connected to the Student WiFi and was unexpectedly disconnected, you may need to change the following setting to get reconnected:
For iPhones, iPods, iPads, and Apple Vision Pro:
- Go to Settings
> Wi-Fi, then tap the
icon for the network.
- Turn Private Address to Off.
- You may need to disconnect and reconnect to the network to reestablish connection.
For MacOS Devices:
- Choose Apple menu in the top left corner of your screen > System Settings, then click Wi-Fi in the sidebar.
- Click the Details button or More Info button next to the network name.
- From the menu next to Private Wi-Fi Address, choose Off.
- You may need to disconnect and reconnect to the network to reestablish connection.
If your device doesn't connect after changing these settings, you can reach out to the IT Helpdesk via email at ITsupport@sau.edu, by calling 563-333-6368, or by stopping down to the Helpdesk located in the lower level of the Library. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 4:30.
